Embarc Launches New Web Site for CJP SeniorDirect

The aging of the U.S. population is a challenge for us all. Nearly one-quarter of US, households, 22.4 million, include a family caregiver for someone 50 or older, and is fast becoming an enormous healthcare and workplace issue for baby-boomers, their families, and the seniors themselves.

In the fall of 2004, Combined Jewish Philanthropies convened a special task force to look at the issue of aging and to determine how to best help members of the community find access to the resources needed by Jewish seniors.

Launched in the fall of 2005, CJP SeniorDirect is the result of this work, a professionally staffed telephone information and referral service and augmented by a website. The telephone line is staffed Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm by experts knowledgeable in eldercare issues and conversant with the full range of Boston’s eldercare services and government-subsided programs and benefits. They answer questions, analyze and determine needs, direct callers to appropriate agencies and follow up with families. The website provides information about each agency and answers callers’ most frequently asked questions.

Using the SENIORdirect corporate color palette, Embarc developed a design suitable for the rapidly built and launched web site. As further branding assets were developed in conjunction with web site development, Embarc incorporated anew logo, different photos, and other brand assets into the rapidly evolving website.

 

After the website initially launched and established the online presence and brand, Embarc moved into Phase 2 of the project, which called for advanced functionality. Functionality developed in this phase included the following functionality:

  • Web Content Management of the Home Page, Guide to Elder, Community Resources, Stories, FAQs
  • User Content Ranking
  • Site Search
  • User Quick Polls
  • Send to Friend and Print Friendly Options
  • Lead Generation Forms
