Aveo selected as 'Pharmaceutical Industry Standard of Excellence' by Web Marketing Association

NEWTON UPPER FALLS, MA (September 26, 2006) - The Web Marketing Association ("WMA") today announced that it has awarded its "Pharmaceutical Industry Standard of Excellence" WebAward for 2006 to Aveo Pharmaceuticals - a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of novel cancer therapeutics. The website was designed, implemented, and launched in 2006 by Embarc, Inc., an Interactive Marketing Agency based in Newton Upper Falls, Massachusetts.
WMA, an organization devoted to establishing high standards for Internet marketing and corporate Web development, annually recognizes the individual and team achievement of Web professionals who create and maintain outstanding corporate websites. The Aveo website was chosen out of the more than 2,100 sites from 33 countries that were reviewed during this year's competition. Entries were judged on design, copy writing, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation and use of technology. The competition was judged by a team of independent Internet professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines of website development. Judges included members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, creative directors, corporate marketing executives, content providers and webmasters.
The goal of the Aveo website was to create a strong brand presence, communicate the company's story and credibility to investors, and position the company as a visionary industry leader. Embarc achieved these goals through:
- Consistent presentation of color family, stylistic elements and narrative imagery
- A layered interactive messaging space with specific user paths speaking to the benefits of partnership, specialized research programs, and commitment to employees.
- Clean and usable architecture and maintainable content spaces that feature up-to-date news content and highlights about the company, fact sheets, and the latest developments.
